The T.E.A. Center is a great school for kids to learn and grow, with plenty of activities and facilities to keep them entertained.
The facilities are well-kept and clean, with a fun playground where the kids can go play during recess if they don’t feel like working on their studies. The teachers are all very friendly, and they make learning fun by using games and other activities to help the kids retain what they’re learning.

My kids, 5 & 2, love attending The TEA Center. They are always excited and eager to get to the Center every day. For all working parents, there is nothing more reassuring than to know that our kids are being cared for in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment while we are away at work.
It is also good that The Center offers Full day/Half day/Three quarter day programs, summer camps, and Before and After school care so there is always a program that fits everyone’s needs. Overall, my kids are usually very happy when I pick them up in the evening and are eager to share all the things they did that day!

My 5-year old and 3-year old have been in the T.E.A center for over a year. The kids really enjoy their time there with the teachers and friends. We couldn’t say enough thank you to all the staff. I personally love their structured learning approach. They language program provides kids opportunity to explore French, Spanish, and Mandarin. My daughter’s class (Ms. Leila) uses Singapore Math which I prefer as a parent.

We have had a wonderful experience with TEA Center! The staff is organized, loving, engaging, and a very positive influence on our children. Ms. Mendis has set up a very well run, professional, yet cozy and caring daycare/preschool for the children, and our daughter loves spending her time there. My kid started at the age of 3.5 yrs. With the defined schedule and playtime, he knows what to expect and adapted to the new environment very quickly. He is excited to go to school every morning. He became more independent while watching other kids eat, sleep, do activities and go to the bathroom independently. The school uploads daily report of the kid on the app every afternoon with pictures and videos which is really satisfying to know that the kid had a good day.

The TEA center is a great place for pre/after school. My son had issues with communication, he did not talk for a whole year in his previous school Westgate, and he started to talk soon after we switched him to TEA center, I can tell he is much happier with the new school. My daughter is in SACC but she always asks me to put her in TEA center summer camp for a few weeks, for the great summer activities. The staff here is really friendly and ms Mayosha is very nice and really improved the center a lot since I get to know her in the past five years, I’m sure their full time day care will be of the same quality as their current services they provide, highly recommended.

Mayosha (the owner) is running the TEA different than any other program. She goes above and beyond for each individual child and make sure the child is progressing and not just pushing the kids through the program like many other institutions. I suggest giving them a try.

My daughter has been at TEA center for the last fours years. The TEA center is much more than just a place for after school care, but a place she make new friends, learnt to be a leader, and grow in an enriched environment where many classes are offered for the kids to experience. The Director of the center, Ms. Mayosha, is a phenomenal educator, and her staff truly love and care for the children under their care. My daughter’s afternoon at TEA center starts with them leading the kids to practice mindfulness, and goes into the reading and homework sessions, followed by enrichment classes. Over the years she has learnt guitar, Chinese, STEM experiments, Art, Dance, cooking and crochet at the TEA center. There is really no other place like it! Being a parent working full-time in DC area, the extended hours TEA center offers is especially helpful. We just love it here!

My children are attending this school. We personally like it because it’s not like traditional daycare where you drop your child off and they are free to roam and not learning much of anything. The T.E.A. center provides a curriculum that provides the children with knowledge and skills above the normal playing. In addition, the diversity at this school is great. This allows children to have exposure to people from all walks of life.

We love this place – our 4yr old needed some structure and we’ve seen immediate results esp in language skills and manners. They do a good bit of crafts but also Spanish, French and Mandarin immersion which is fantastic at this age. For it’s location in McLean they are better priced than comparable day cares and also the admin staff is fantastic – super responsive and know you by face.

Even during the COVID, she has online classes from 9 to 1 everyday, learning Chinese, Spanish, French, Numbers, Letters, yoga and arts. She can count to 20, recognize English letters, and sing Chinese songs at age four. We couldn’t be happier with her progresses.

The TEA center has been a savior during the pandemic to host a Kindergarten classroom with in-person learning 5 days a week! I can’t say enough about the precautions and guidelines that they have successfully implemented to keep our children safe, while offering a rare opportunity to learn in person this year! My son and daughter have enjoyed coming to the TEA center for the past 3 years. The teachers are engaging and encourage students to develop important life skills such as leadership, mindfulness, collaboration and independence. For the aftercare program the children are broken up into grade levels to work on homework with a teacher assigned to help each grade. Enforcing this work then play routine after school has been extremely helpful. The extended hours (until 6:45pm) also allows for flexibility with work schedules. They also offer a variety of enrichment classes ranging from languages to dance. My daughter has enjoyed meeting children from other neighboring elementary schools and varying age groups. I highly recommend The TEA center and so do my kids!

My son has been in the TEA center for about six month now, and I cannot be happier. As a working mom, I always had to make careful plans to fill in school holidays and early dismissal days. TEA center perfectly covers all those days, and even more, offers high quality enrichment classes of art, STEM, coding etc. so I do not need to worry about his extracurricular activitiets any more. Both our children have been attending the TEA center for after school care and the summer camps for the past 3 years and we love it! There is a great balance of academics and play in the aftercare which encourages homework first and groups the children into grade levels with an assigned teacher. There is also an extensive offering of enrichment classes ranging from languages to dance. Enrichment classes are offered on site and allow for the children to try many activities. The teachers are engaging and attentive. Also, because the TEA center picks up from multiple elementary schools the children have made friends with children from all over McLean and have expanded their network of friends. We highly recommend the TEA center!!
